Summer Dream: Director Tyler Nisbet Interview

Summer Dream is a film I acted in directed by Tyler Nesbit and Cinematography shared by John Kearns Jr and Chia Yu Chen. I’ll link the trailer as well in another blog but I wanted to post this to keep all of my ambitions together on the website. Professionally, I am working as a Cinematographer but I have always really enjoyed that process an actor goes through for a project. Summer Dream gave me a great perspective into acting in front of the camera. Often times with friends in a working environment, you are given that creative flexibility to go off script or change things in a moment– That improv has taught me a tremendous amount about production and the flexibility of telling a story one….

VIRGINIA BEACH

A Virginia Beach native and Kellam High School graduate, Nisbet has loved movies for almost a long as he can remember. Now, a month shy of his 27th birthday, Nisbet is jetting into Virginia Beach from Los Angeles this week to screen his first professionally-shot feature-length film, “Summer Dream.”

Checkmate Director Timothy Woodward Jr. on Shooting with the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K

Director Timothy Woodward Jr. is currently in post-production on Checkmate, an action thriller with supernatural undertones shot using the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K. The movie is expected to be completed by October, and is one of the first features shot with this camera.

We spoke to Woodward about shooting with the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K, as well as about shooting action sequences and why you shouldn’t “fix it in post.” This is part one of the interview.
